your wedding day. Working quietly and unobtrusively, making sure you
have plenty of time to mingle with your guests to celebrate and
enjoy your special day as it naturally progresses. The quantity of
images taken can be influenced by several factors, such as the
number bridesmaid’s & guest’s present, location, venue the weather
and typically length of time between the ceremony and the start of
the Wedding breakfast.
How long will you stay with us on our
wedding day?
We stay until the wedding breakfast or later in the medium and
larger packages or until required. Typically, the day will begin
from the Brides home with the Bridesmaids all to be ready an hour
before, leaving to possible then meet the Groom, Best-man & ushers
at the ceremony venue. If you have a smaller package further
coverage is possible there will be a charge for the extra time and
work involved.
Do you take any traditional formal wedding
photographs?
Most couples and their family would like a few formal and group
shots your album would be incomplete without a small number of
family group photographs (unless you specify otherwise). Your album
will become an important archive of images of your loved ones for
future generations. All of the family groups are at the request of
the Bride & Groom. Photographs of the bridal party are included as
standard coverage. Have any ideas or thoughts for special shots to
further bespoke your wedding album, you can ask at anytime during
the photography on the day anytime.
Do you use digital cameras?
Yes, we use professional digital SLR cameras and lenses, which
provide much greater detail and quality than high street consumer
models. Digital capture and output has now reached a level of
quality that far exceeds traditional methods. This has been
scientifically proven and it is universally accepted within the
industry that digital image quality and the archival properties of
digital prints is vastly superior to conventional film-based
processes. Digital capture also offers far greater creative control,
especially in changing lighting conditions, than film is capable of
and most in post production dependent upon the photographers
abilities.
Do you provide colour and Black and White
images?
Yes, we provide both colour and black and white images from the
colour images taken, an ideal medium for a unique style. We will
also provide a selection of sepia, colour and selenium toned
images and further special effects. Have you any ideas or special
shots you would like? We welcome your input to create something
individual to you and your day.
How do we see previews of our wedding
photographs?
We will produce previews via the web (for guests to order) plus all
will be supplied on CD/DVD-ROM. You can then choose to add or remove
photographs from your selection before deciding which to go into
your album. These will be ready 7- 10 days after the wedding.
How many images do we get in our album?
There is a possibility of 1 – 8 prints per page therefore the number
of prints per album will vary, as may the total number of pages.
Wedding albums are expandable (to a point where they don’t look
right) therefore if you wanted more in it would be quantity against
size of images. The digital story book style has no predetermined
cut outs or quantity for photographs the page is one print created
in the computer and so totally variable.
Who designs and assembles our album?
Each stage of your wedding album design and compilation is carried
out exclusively by us other than the Digital Albums where your
chosen photographs are sent to Italy they then create the pages and
supply PDF files to look at then we can make any changes we then
send another PDF before committing and printing the pages, it’s a
system that works well.
Do you digitally manipulate your images?
As professional photographers, we create most of our images in the
camera at the taking stage. However, an image can be altered simply
by adding a colour, tone, soft focus which helps to create a special
mood in the picture. If we feel that an image can be improved by
digital image manipulation, we will take that decision or recommend
that to you.
Prior to your wedding
A few weeks before the happy day we discuss with you the Wedding day
to confirm the information and details supplied to us and further
discuss the arrangements and those specially requested shots.
Newspapers
Free inclusion into local newspapers. Please supply all information
of the newspaper/s if not a local one. We will require editors email
address and the newspaper form to be completed.
Photography between the Church & Reception,
a 3rd venue?
Many churches these days have limited space, perhaps there is a
picturesque park or garden along the route to the reception and more
preferable to have many of the photographs taken there. We make no
extra charge for this, preferring photographs to be taken in the
most suitable surroundings are a benefit to the photography and
offer many more variations.
Viewing and selecting images for your album
Your images will be available on-line approximately 7-14 days after
your wedding, you will have exclusive access to them and or your
guests whom you have forwarded the code to.
Balance Payment
Your balance payment is due fourteen days prior to your wedding day.
You will be sent an invoice, including any premium services but also
including additional costs, such as additional mileage, if
appropriate. We do not charge for mileage for weddings in
Gloucestershire or Oxfordshire or Warwickshire.
How do I make a booking with you?
You will probably be looking at a number of wedding photographers. I
would suggest that you meet each of them and look through the type
of work that they produce and have a good face-to-face chat to
ensure that you can work with this person. When you want to make a
firm booking you will need to complete as much detail as possible on
the Wedding Booking Form (downloadable below), sign it to accept the
Terms & Conditions (this is a legally binding contract) and send it
with a deposit of £150.
What happens when we make a booking?
Upon receipt of your deposit, I will review the details and call you
with any particular questions at that stage. I would also mark off
that day on the calendar – I will only ever shoot one wedding per
day irrespective of which package you book.
When is the best time for the photographer
to arrive?
Depending on the coverage within your chosen package, if bridal
preparation is not covered I would normally arrive at the ceremony
location about an hour prior to the ceremony start. If bridal
preparation is included, arrival at the ceremony location will be
later than this, which may possibly curtail shooting the arrival of
some guests the groom and best man.
What about group pictures and formal shots?
I will happily shoot whatever groups you like, even if you just
thought of them that moment on the day. The mix of contemporary and
reportage style coverage captures your wedding in different was
creating spontaneous & natural images of your wedding day. These
days large numbers of large group shots have subsided preferring to
capture the true nature of the day as it progresses through.
How many pictures do you take?
We will take far in excess of the number of pictures quoted in the
prices section, typically in excess of 700 during the course a whole
day. I will then select the very best for your preview and in turn
you will need to make your selection to get to the number of images
for the album.
Do you work nationwide?
Whilst I am happy to work anywhere in the UK, additional costs will
be incurred for mileage and potentially accommodation should the
wedding be over 100 miles from my base please ask for details.
How do we get to see the photographs?
You will be sent via email a link to a web gallery on our web site
for you and all your guests to see bringing together all the shots
from the day is the quickest and easiest way of showing them to your
family and friends.
How long will it take to receive our album?
Usually six weeks after you have agreed to the PDF style and layout
designed for you.
How will we receive our album?
I will either hand-deliver it if local or courier it to you for no
extra charge within the mainland U.K.
How will friends and family be able to view
and order reprints?
All friends and guests can see via online, when uploaded a link
together with a password will be forwarded to you to login and see
either by picture or watch in a slideshow.
Bride and groom shots
With a fantastic day and you both looking your best, it's great to
have some time out to take some creative shots of the two of you
whilst your guests are enjoying a drink and canapés.
Do you visit the venue prior to the
wedding?
I always like to visit a new venue prior to the wedding possibly
with the couple.
What areas do I cover?
I cover the whole UK, for destinations over 100 miles a
supplementary fee of £100 is charged to cover costs.
Do you photograph in colour or black and
white?
Both! Digital maximise our options as some photographs simply cry
out to be black and white. We have a reputation for powerful black
and white & selenium images that mixed with the colour images
present a wonderful change within the album. Unless instructed
otherwise, we will always include a suitable selection of images in
black and white and other effects which can be applied to any of
photographs taken if desired.
We were at a wedding ceremony and the
photographer took ages photographing group shots. Do you do that?
No we don't. Most of our coverage will be unobtrusive reportage. We
do include a selection of traditional family group photographs. In
most cases about four to six formal group photographs with both sets
of parents and siblings, bridesmaids, best man and ushers will
capture the main wedding party. We work positively with our clients
to avoid stiff boring line-ups and lengthy calls for endless groups,
so that there's plenty of time for natural informal photographs with
your guests.
What happens if it rains?
We have had rain actually stop a wedding, we came back after the
meal, the sun was out again the images were great in fact the rain
gave great depth of colour together with a lower yellow sun you
would never know I came back. Otherwise we try to use it to our
advantage having fun with the different conditions. Being
professional and experienced working in all conditions we always
have a solution but largely it’s your call? We can always shoot
inside your venue, and have professional photographic lighting, just
in case.
Will you retouch the pictures if necessary?
Yes, within reason we will retouch the odd facial spot for the album
and print orders. We will also enhance pictures such as cropping in
etc. The odd tuck and slimming down is also possible. On an
aesthetic note, using digital enhancement techniques we are able to
improve images taken under unfavourable conditions, such as dull
weather and produce a variety of effects including sepia toning,
split toning and monochrome images with spot colour.
I’m worried our wedding isn’t large enough
to photograph. Are there any differences photographing a big
marriage at a church and a small civil ceremony?
Weddings are first and foremost about the couple, their family and
friends. The marriage location, whether at a registry office or a
large country house to a cathedral all important, obtaining the
right images and album for you is what we like and if all weddings
were the same, possibly that could be dull, we love different sized
weddings at various venues.
